Week 9 EOC: Mission Statement
Delicious
Delights is providing a delicious and convenient snack to people of all ages.
For enjoyment during snack time fun and any party you can think of having
anytime during the year. We won’t just stop at Puppy Chow. Be prepared for more
great snacks from Delicious Delights with the same great prices! “Mission
statements should be meaningful and specific yet motivating. They should
emphasize the company’s strengths in the marketplace.” Marketing An
Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page 41. Also, all proceeds are going to be provided to
help the relief aid to all those suffering in the Philippines from Typhoon
Haiyan. All proceeds will be overlooked directly by the founder of Delicious Delights,
Mr. Bagenstos himself, to ensure philanthropic efforts are being met, in order
to satisfy the common concerns of shareholders. We believe the little shelter
left standing after the Typhoon is not enough so with your help of purchasing
our Puppy Chow, we will donate every proceed made to start in rebuilding all
the lost homes in the Philippines. By the end of next year, we want most of the
homes rebuilt and sturdy for families to move into. “Business
and charity or public service don’t have to be mutually exclusive. In fact,
when they come together, they can be very powerful.” Marketing An Introduction,
Armstrong/Kotler Page 87. We aren't stopping there though, after homes are built we’re
going to send clothes and other supplies to help getting the Philippines back
on track. When the Philippines are finished being rebuilt the proceeds will
continue to go to those in need. Treat yourself today with a bag of Puppy Chow
and help those unable to even get out of the rain.

Final Project - Implementation Evaluation Control
Every
month a sales analysis will be looked over comparing sale targets to actual
sales made. A website will be created with a direct email to the corporate office
so customers can email their complaints, concerns, and comments. A customer
satisfaction survey will also be posted on the website to encourage customers
to tell us how they feel about our product Puppy Chow and the company itself. “Satisfied
customers buy a product again, talk favorably to others about the product, pay
less attention to competing brands and advertising, and buy other products from
the company.” Marketing An Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page 154. In every bag purchased,
the same customer satisfaction survey can be found and mailed in by costumers
who wish to share their opinion. A monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
report will be collect and analyzed by the founder and CEO's of Delicious
Delights to ensure enough proceeds are being made and given to the right places
to help those in the Philippines. Quarterly market share evaluations will be
made to evaluate how much of the current market is controlled by Delicious
Delights and our competitors. “Rather than setting a high initial
price to skim off small but profitable market segments, some companies use market-penetration pricing. They set a
low initial price in order to penetrate the market quickly
and deeply—to attract a large number of buyers quickly and win a large market share.” Marketing An
Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page 286. If our goals aren't met after six months, we
will analyze our market plan and come up with a new strategy to ensure our
goals are met.
Final Project - Price
The prices we offer at Delicious Delights
will be lower than anyone around. We will beat any competitor price by 10% off
every bag. “The company can offer greater costumer value either by charging
lower prices than competitors, or by offering more benefits to justify higher
prices.” Marketing An Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page 53. Prices will start from $1.99 every ten ounce bag in stores or
weigh out your own bag and only pay $0.18 every ounce. When buying mass
quantities of Puppy Chow, special deals will be made with our whole sale
retailers to ensure they get the best prices and services from our team players
at Delicious Delights. Starting at $450.00 when you need ten pounds, $850.00
for twenty pounds, and as low as $1800.00 for fifty pounds. Puppy Chow will be
sold as needed by customer. We will be able to offer more of the
product at better bargain prices then our competitors with no worries of losing
money. “A company can always increase customer satisfaction by lowering
its price or increasing its services.” Marketing An Introduction,
Armstrong/Kotler Page 17.
Final Project - Promotion
Here
at Delicious Delights we offer a wide variety of promotions. We'll keep a
televised commercial running in major cities all across the United States.
Promotion teams will also be deployed across America to get a direct response
from costumers for their thoughts and feelings towards Delicious Delights and
our main product Puppy Chow. Using networks such as Facebook and Twitter, we
will be able to show millions across the world what our product is with constant adds being displayed through our companies pages. This will also promote what our
companies about and stay connected in an easier way with our customers. “Marketers
are working to harness the power of these new social networks to promote their
products and build closer costumer relationships.” Marketing An Introduction,
Armstrong/Kotler Page 143. The most recent promotion add being ran is our radio
commercial. A fairly simple add, getting straight to the point, but it gets
your mouth watering and you excited to hurry and get yourself a bag. Another major option we have to explore is promoting through apps and cell phone games. More and more people are getting phones, tablets, and other devices that give the option for apps and games. We will be displaying our adds through the app stores and apps themselves, reaching a larger audience everyday. Last is
the word of mouth. We have no doubt Puppy Chow will be so good; customers won't
help but to spread the good word. Our customers will be our biggest guaranteed
promoters. In the first month we will also be offering a complimentary gift for
the release of Puppy Chow. Just another reason to get people excited to try
this amazing treat. “If the sales promotion period is to
short, many prospects (who may not be buying during that time) will miss it. If
the promotion runs too long, the deal will lose some of its “act now” force.”
Marketing An Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page 437.

Final Project - Distribution
The
target whole sale providers are the main grocery outlets across the United
States. Starting in stores such as Whole Foods, Smith's, and Albertsons, then
moving into larger stores from Wal-Mart to Targets. We want to have the United
States covered in just a few months before moving internationally and having
most the world covered before Delicious Delights yearly mark. “Few
companies have the confidence, capital, and capacity to launch new products
into full national or international distribution right away.” Marketing An
Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page 253. Using the power of television, we want to reach
the homes of millions with our adds and send everyone in the right direction to
purchase our products. Whether that’s over the phone, online, or sending them
to the nearest store that sells our product. “With the
widespread distribution on cable and satellite television, the top three
shopping networks combined now reach 248 million homes worldwide.” Marketing An
Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page 454.
Final Project - Product
Our
product Puppy Chow will consist of few ingredients. The main being cocoa beans
shipped straight to Malaysia, Asia. “Consumers don’t just
buy products, they buy the values and lifestyles those products represent.”
Marketing An Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page 148. When they arrive we
grind them down and make the chocolate ourselves. The peanuts we acquire are
some of the freshest peanuts grown here in the United States. We want Kellogg’s
brand to make the crispy rice cereal and sell to use at a cheap and reasonable
price. Last is the butter we will be using. Another deal will be made, this
time with Country Crock for the production of the butter needed. We want you to
know you’re getting the best tasting treat when purchasing our product, always
leaving you a satisfied customer. “The American Society
for Quality defines quality as the characteristics of a product or service that
bear on its ability to satisfy stated or implied customer needs.” Marketing An
Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page 214.
Final Project - Target Market Strategy
The
value we are creating for our customers goes much further than just having an
amazing tasting treat. We want everyone who buys a bag of Puppy Chow to have an
experience like never before. The guaranteed cheapest prices we offer, will
keep you coming back for more. “Consumers at all income levels—including
affluent consumers—are cutting back on their spending and seeking greater value
from their purchases.” Marketing An Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page 179. We get the richest
chocolate from cocoa beans harvested straight out of Malaysia, Asia. Here at
Delicious Delights we make the costumer number one. So if theirs ever a problem
with any of our current or future products send it to our main office, with the
issue noted and you'll be reimbursed 300%, for any issues caused by company or
distributors. “In an increasingly connected world, people at all
levels of the marketing system must work together to implement marketing
strategies and plans.” Marketing An Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page 57. As an added bonus, you
know all proceeds made from Puppy Chow gets sent over to help those affected by
Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. After all those suffering are helped in the
Philippines, we will start giving the proceeds to others who are in need. Your
money is always going to help those in need when you buy from Delicious
Delights.
Final Project - SWOT Analysis
After
conducting the SWOT analysis, we have determined the strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats that should be focused on. “Managing
the marketing function begins with a complete analysis of the company’s
situation. The marketer should conduct a SWOT analysis by which it evaluates
the company’s overall strengths (S), weaknesses (W), opportunities (O), and
threats (T).” Marketing An Introduction, Armstrong/ Kotler Page 55. Strengths include a big
opportunity for more products, this will offer some major growth in the
company. Next are the lower prices we offer with every bag purchased from
Delicious Delights. Our biggest weakness seen is the lack of international
operations we possess. In the year to come we will push to branch out all around
the world. With the public focus on the Philippines, it's a big opportunity to
spark a public interest in Delicious Delights to boost and greatly expand the
company some more. The changing seasons will also be of some assistance to
provide limited time special flavors. Last are the threats against the company.
Our biggest is our rival snack, Muddy Buddies and the possibility of future
snacks that will raise the competitive market. “Sales decline
for many reasons, including technological advances, shifts in consumer tastes,
and increased competition.” Marketing An Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page
263.
Final Project - Objectives
The
target buyers Delicious Delights is to pursue will be all whole sale retailers,
due to the fact they can distribute products effectively amongst the local
populous. “Each company must find the game plan for long-run
survival and growth that makes the most sense given its specific situation,
opportunities, objectives, and resources.” Marketing An Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler
Page 39 I
can sell to them in mass quantities at reduced prices, knowing my product will
efficiently be distributed in a shorter amount of time. These whole sale
retailers include, but are not limited to, Whole Foods, Smith's, Albertsons,
and anyone else interested and excited to get on with Delicious Delights. Over
the next year we will strive for nothing less than a 90% customer satisfaction
rating and a fair average of $15,000 a month being provided to aid the
Philippines. Our goal is to own a minimum of 20% of the market share for snack
foods. “Finally, within individual units, marketing designs
strategies for reaching the unit’s objectives. Once the unit’s objectives are
set, marketing’s task is to help carry them out profitably.” Marketing An
Introduction, Armstrong/Kotler Page 47.

Week 8 EOC - Creative Content
You
jump in your car to head to the grocery store and when you turn on the radio
the first commercial you hear is from your favorite people here at Delicious
Delights. Your mouth begins to water as you put your vehicle in drive. The
commercial goes on as you think to yourself "what is this magnificent
sounding treat?" “Puppy Chow, for only $2.00, you can get five ounces of
this magically tasty experience for you or a friend. Having a party
soon, birthday or a little more towards the crazy side for a party? Puppy chow
will never serve you wrong. It’ll even be loved at your Sunday sports day. The
first time you take a bite out of a bag, not only does the chocolate melt in
your mouth but you melt along with it. Melting away to a paradise you can only
dream of at night. You’ll have to prepare yourself for this explosion of taste
that will send you back to the first time you ever put a chocolate bar in your
mouth and you instantly filled with the joy of a thousand children. My friend’s
this isn’t just a bag of chocolate treats you’re buying, you’re buying a
journey back through and too wonderful places you might have thought we’re long
lost.” At this point you realize you haven’t left your driveway and you’re
debating going back inside to grab a dry shirt you haven’t drooled on. “So come
get some Puppy Chow to also help those in need in the Philippines for all
profits will be going to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. They deserve it and so
do you.” You’ve decided by now that this treat must have been sent from the
gods and can’t wait to get some.

Week 7 EOC: Marketing Pitch
My company Maker’s Me is proud to offer you Puppy Chow the
greatest snack choice you can chose for any occasion. Don’t let the name fool
you, this snack is far from being for puppies. Puppy Chow is rich in chocolaty
greatness, reminding you of all the great childhood memories you once forgot
and all the pleasures life has to offer.
From your first bite till your last, you won’t want to pass on a bag. “Marketing consists of actions taken to build and
maintain desirable exchange relationships with target audiences involving a
produce, service, idea, or other object.” Marketing An Introduction,
Armstrong/Kotler Page 8. We can cheaply mass produce Puppy Chow and have
it in every Whole Foods in no time. The only ingredients involved are Chex mix,
chocolate chips, peanut butter, butter, and powder sugar, making the price
affordable for anyone to try. Bags from snack size when you’re on the go, up to
five pound bags will be made for even your biggest get together. Winter season
is coming to give us the chance to produce a limited time offer of peppermint
and spearmint flavor Puppy Chow everyone’s mouth will be watering over. Don’t

Philippines. So wait no longer to awaken your lost memories and feelings of

Week 6 EOC: Me x 3
First item that defines me would have to be my home studio
setup. When I’m not at school, I spend most of my time in front of the computer
doing school work or teaching myself other useful knowledge I strive to learn.
I’m able to do anything I need on it from making the music I love to even
playing a game when I feel a need to take a break. Takes me no time at all to
get done with work here. With it I’ll be able to reach my goal successfully of
trying to learn everything I can.
I own a 2006 Jeep Commander and that’s the second item that
makes up me. This doesn’t make up me because of what kind of vehicle it is, but
rather that it’s a reliable vehicle that gets me to my destinations. It’s unfortunate the Jeep I own only gets roughly
14 miles per gallon, but since I’ve owned it, I’ve had little to no problems
with it. I was able to set up the back and middle of the Jeep to be a nice sound
system I can DJ from. Without my Jeep I
would have a more difficult time getting to school and back and forth from
military appointments.
The last item that defines who I am is probably my CDJs. I
first learned how to spin on these and still use them to practice on a regular.
They aren’t much for DJing equipment, but great for learning on. They define me
because of the artist I’m trying to become. After I start producing my own music,
I’ll already know how to play the music live for an audience. Eventually I’ll
upgrade from these CDJs to a controller that can do more, but for now these
work great.

Week 5 EOC: Social Networks and Job Hunting
Companies like LinkedIn and Monster could stand to lose some
of their customer base from the social media giant that is Facebook. According an article in The Wall Street
Journal, “Facebook’s use as a job-recruitment tool remains small, but its
appeal may be growing.” (Light, Joe.
"Recruiters Troll Facebook for Candidates They Like." Wall
Street Journal. (2011))
This
could prove slightly hazardous to those companies who target only professional
lives. One company, Waste Management, gets most of its traffic from Facebook.Job candidates, however, may be inclined to see companies
starting to find jobs on Facebook as a threat, considering it invasive of their
personal lives. Highly qualified job candidates may be overlooked when their
personal lives and resume are connected, but employers could benefit from the
connectivity provided by Facebook. I believe that personal lives and
professional lives should not be grouped together, and so do those who were in
focus groups for Adobe Systems Inc. The vice president of Adobe Systems Inc.
talent acquisition said that LinkedIn has been a more successful venture for
their company. “… to build
meaningful relationships with customers, you first have to understand them and
how they connect with your brand.” (Gary Armstrong, Philip Kotler. Marketing: An
Introduction,
10th Edition., 2010. Page 99)
Facebook may lose some user base when the
users’ Facebook profiles are used as a resume.
The social network has been the center of many scandals already when
employees are in the hiring process, causing much unfair bias. Even after being
hired, some are discriminated against for what they do in their free time. One
teacher in Aurora, Colorado, was fired because of her Twitter posts and
Instagram photos after attending a music festival

Week 4 EOC - Theirs an App For That
The app I came up with would fill your tank in your
vehicle full of gasoline. By just pressing a few buttons, your car will take
off for the nearest gas station where it will be filled with the gasoline of
your choice. Through the latest technology your vehicle will remember the route
you take to the closest gas station, under five miles. You choose what kind of
gas you would like pumped in your vehicle and pay by credit card through the
app itself. On completing your transaction the gas station will be notified of
the purchase so they can be ready to pump your fuel upon your vehicles arrival.
Your vehicle will know when the fuel has been pumped when the clerk closes the
door to your gas tank. Your vehicle will then start and return safely home to
you. Your vehicle will be installed with sensors all around the outside so
it’ll detect an object from different ranges up to 1000 feet. The app itself is
free, with purchase of sensors and computer chip to run your vehicle of course.
Everyone everywhere will have this app, just not anyone that lives further than
five miles from a gas station. With every purchase of gas a ten percent
additional fee will be added for the use of the app along with a three percent
tax. Hurry while supplies last. Never
have to wake up and leave early for work, school, or anywhere so you can fill
your tank first. Just set the weekly reminder for your vehicle to go get a tank
full of gas. This means you’ll never be running late for anything again. With a
full tank a gas every time you leave the house, nothing can go wrong.

Week 3 EOC: My Demographics
I was born in 1990, making me gladly a part of the
Millennials or Generation Y. Being a part of this generation means I have grown
up in a world completely filled with all sorts of technology from cellphones,
satellite TV, iPads, to the internet and online social networks for communicating
with others across the world. I don’t think a lot of people from this era would
really know how to live without the use of technology. It has become so common
in our everyday lives; nobody even stops to think about how amazing this
technology truly is. I’m definitely a part of the 91 percent on the internet
and the 77 percent on social networking sites, but wouldn’t agree to be in the
71 percent using instant messaging. I’m always travelling and meeting new
people from all across the world. It’s a huge luxury being able to just add a
person you meet on Facebook and catch up with them later. Everybody’s so busy
in their own lives and you in yours that you feel you just don’t have the time
to call all these people you meet to keep in touch with them. It even becomes
too much to text sometimes. So we add each other on Facebook, from there anyone
can see what I’ve been up to with recent pictures and posts and I can do the same
with them. Then when the time comes when you can see that other individual
again, you’re able to get in touch and feel like you haven’t forgot who this
person is. You are also able to meet amazing people from around the world using
the web and may never even meet them in person, that’s the amazing thing about
the world we live in now.
Week 3 EOC: Making Money for Good
After finding many companies that give back to charities, I
found one that I felt stuck out from the rest. FEED is the name of the company
and for every sell they make from bags, accessories, and even apparel, a part
of the money goes to feeding hungry children around the world. They have
partnered with the UN World Food Programme and The United Nations Children’s
Fund, along with DonorsChoose.org, Room to Read, Millennium Villages, Doc 2
Dock, and Edesia. Lauren Bush designed a bag back in 2006 to benefit the United
Nations World Food Programme’s School Feeding program and that’s what got FEED
started. In 2007 production of these bags started and FEED Projects LLC was
founded by Lauren Bush and Ellen Gustafson. For each bag sold a child in school
would be fed for a year. In 2008 the FEED Foundation started to support
programs and organizations that are working to fight hunger across the world.
Since opening in 2007 FEED has been successful in giving 60 million school
meals to children around the world, 46,000 children with nutrition supplements,
and 13,000 children in American received healthier school meals. They were also
able to with feeding people in Haiti after their major earthquake and Japan
after their major earthquake. This couldn’t have been done without the help
from their retail partners including GAP, Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com,
American Eagle Outfitters, Whole Foods, and many more. Hunger is the number one
on the world’s top ten health risks list, meaning one in seven people go to bed
hungry every night in this world. I think what FEED is doing is beyond amazing
and with more companies helping feed the hungry like them, it moves the world
one step closer to being rid of malnutrition and the hungry.

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games
First I’ll start with the X-box 360 and the PS3. I have
placed them both in the cash cow section. In an article done by William D’Angelo,
the year to date sales are shown in comparison from 2010 to 2013. "In 2011 X-box
sold 5.8 million consoles where the PS3 sold 7.2 million. In 2013 those numbers
drop to 3.5 million for X-box, a 39.7% drop and 5.2 for PS3, a 26.9% drop."(http://www.vgchartz.com/article/251339/2013-year-on-year-sales-and-market-share-update-to-september-28th/)
I put in cash cow because I don’t see any growth in the
market but I don’t see a lot of gamers being able to afford the new X-box One and
PS4, leaving them a high relative market share. I place both the X-box One and
the PS4 in the star category for a few reasons. They’re both new and have many
pros and cons, but I don’t think the main focus of sales will come from the
United States. China recently lifted a ban that prevented the sale of video
games. The ban was made back in 2000 because of the public complaining video
games would rot their children’s minds. "The lifting of the ban means that companies like
Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony will now be able to actively market their
products to China’s population of 1.35 billion people. Such a large consumer
base could significantly alter the types of games that we see coming to market." Aaron Colterhttp://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/chinas-13-year-ban-on-video-games-and-console-sales-set-to-end/#ixzz2hMvBOQXG
I place the Wii in the dog category. There were only about 1.2 million
consoles sold this year. I believe it’s a gun console for a young family, but
not many gamers are interested. The Wii U came out and failed miserably. I
think game systems like the Oculus Rift, a virtual reality headset for 3D
gaming, and the smart phone and tablet games will be what’s coming next. I’d
place them in the question mark because there isn't a big market for them yet,
but they could grow to be huge. “In terms of long-term outlook, the real
difficulty is in handhelds because people gravitate towards tablets and mobile
phones,” Woo says. http://business.time.com/2013/02/11/game-over-why-video-game-console-sales-are-plummeting/#ixzz2hMyE7Odx

Week 1 EOC: My Voice
I’m not just another music producer on a journey to stardom.
I’m going to use the knowledge I hold about life and the motivation I wake up
with daily to one day change the world. Taking it one day at a time, I’m always
staying positive and professional. I never miss a deadline and staying on time
for everywhere I have to be. I won’t waste your time and expect you not to
waste mine. I don’t do this for the money or the glory of being an all-star DJ.
I make my music to inspire and touch the lives of millions, to keep this
movement of music we’re in going strong, and to bring happiness to people all
over the world. I will continue to bring people together to eventually throw
the world’s biggest global gathering of people. I will throw 13 music festivals
in 13 separate countries across the world at the same time, while also paying
for 10,000 people from each country to go for free. This is why my journey
starts with music, but I’ll finish doing so much more. I believe the dreams you
set out to accomplish make you who you become and can turn anyone into a great
individual. You make the choice to keep putting in the effort and you’ll do
anything, even if it is as big as changing the world.
Week 1 EOC: Great Costumer Service
Earlier this year I moved to Henderson, right before
starting school, and ran into a huge problem with my phone service. I didn’t
have any bars of service almost everywhere in my house. This was a huge problem
for me because my cell phone was my only source of a telephone. I use Sprint
for my cell phone provider and have always been satisfied with their service,
all the way down to the bill being under $100 and unlimited everything. It took
me a minute to connect to an actual person when calling Sprint to deal with my
problem. When I did get connected with somebody, I ended up losing the call in
the first five minutes. Within a minute I received a phone call back and a
voicemail from the nice lady I had been speaking with. With the little bit of
information she could piece together before our original call dropped, she
already knew my problem. Listening to the voicemail, she had informed me that an
antenna I could set up in my house and link up to four separate cell phones to
was being shipped to me and I would receive it in just a couple weeks. She
stated I would have received the antenna sooner, but they were in back order. I
received the antenna and have never been happier. I only had to call the one
time and didn’t have to threaten to switch phone providers or talk to a manager
to get what I wanted. The antenna itself and the shipping were all free of
charge as well. The only real downfall through the entire situation was how
long I had to wait, makes me think I’m not the only one with bad phone
reception in my home.
